Firstly, a huge thanks to everybody who has lobbied their local MP's to address the difficulties and hurdles that have been stopping us take our fair share of refugees as a matter of urgency.

Hi Dan

I am still to receive the link to complete the DBS check, although I have followed up with them.

Here's the content of the email I initially received and have attached details on acceptable ID.

Following your offer to host Ukrainian refugees we are contacting you to confirm how the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be processed.

In return email you will need to provide:

·    Names and titles of each of your household members, this includes all adults, 16yrs and up. (e.g., Mr John Doe)

·    Dates of birth

·    Email addresses

·    Category of refugees you will be hosting e.g., children, adults, children & adults

·    Documents listed below

Your application will then proceed as follows:

·    you will be sent a link to start your application

·    Create your account and log in by clicking the link in the email you receive; you then confirm what ID you will be providing for the ID check. Suitable ID is listed on log in, however, please also find attached. You will need 3 pieces of ID, in order to prove your current legal name, your current address and your date of birth, each using independent pieces of ID

·    When you have chosen your ID we will then need you to scan the ID and send through to us on this email address

·    We will arrange a video call with you to verify your ID in person

·    We will then process the ID verification on your application and send you a link to complete the application

·    Once logged in you will need to confirm a 5-year address history and a complete name history back to birth, so please have this information at the ready

·    Once submitted your DBS application is countersigned by ESCC and sent to the DBS for processing

·    You will receive your certificate which will need to be viewed by our team, please let them know when it arrives

*Please note that DBS checks are role specific. If you have a current DBS you can only use it if it fits the specific role we are checking for. ESCC does not accept basic DBS.

Once I have access to the DBS application I will share this with you.

Regarding the video call, this was literally five minutes to show the ID that I had sent to them, no other questions asked at this stage.

Are you receiving enquiries about the visa application process?  We applied under the Family Scheme which may be slightly different to that of the Sponsor Scheme, let me know I'm sure we can help where we can.

Let me know if you have any questions, happy to help.

Best wishes,

Alex
